Thats generally what you are supposed to do.. Judge how someone acts and not on what they say.. Or is this different in N. Carolina?
No thats what we do down here. Thats why the whole team loves him.

He's said some really dumb things but he has been a model citizen in Raleigh. The entire team likes him oh and after he was cast off by the Rags most of the Rag players still love him and again invited him to major events like weddings.

hate to break it to you but 95% of hockey players share the same values as Tony DeAngelo. Its a sport for the wealthy and privileged. Fans and players alike heavily lean conservative/right wing.

In Vancouver we had Connor Garland demand a trade because Vancouver is too socially liberal for him lol
95 is a bit of a hyperbole, but you might be right and it still might be a majority. however things I believe are changing, and it helps when the best player alive/face of the league is quite progressive

It's actually the opposite. Most NHL fans lean left:

Yeah I'm a horrible person for hating the far right. "Anecdotal and unproven incidents" he was suspended for.

What does the far right have to do with anything? You love the far left? I love the hypocrisy.

Edit: I see your little love emoji on many fans being left. You're just a hypocrite.

Get over yourself. This is about the player, not your yelling at the clouds about politics.

I love how this is just going to be more pages of actual hate for the guy who’s been great attitude wise as a cane, this is a paper move for the deadline. He’s been available for awhile.

They aren’t getting rid of him because of any of his supposed issues, just because they want a defensive dman as the 7th. Not a pp specialist
He’s still a total douche

It's an expensive sport, but it's not the only expensive sport. There's middle class people and people from countries like Slovakia, Latvia, and other small European countries who have made it happen.

Who cares what the players prefer politically? Other than HF Boards and Reddit, it really shouldn't matter.

Yes, homophobia, sexism and/or racism isn't what's divides us! It's not accepting those who hold homophobic, sexist and/or racist values that creates the divide!

I'm bi-racial, so don't talk to me about your perception of racism. Folks like you who obsess over it is what keeps it alive and kicking. You don't know what he said, but good job throwing out your key words to try and end an argument.

And I also don't think someone making a racist/sexist joke or remark while angry means they are a POS and it defines their life. People say and do stupid things often, but it doesn't define them in my opinion. People like you and your pal with George Carlin in his profile are the ones who have decided you are judge and jury.

Keep hating and wishing ill on a player because the internet said so. I'll look at the facts and people around him who state the exact opposite and makes me root harder for the guy you folks want canceled.

Now this is funny. Where did I state he should be cancelled? Where did I wish him ill? Is he a POS? Maybe but that's up to me to decide. You know free speech and all that, that you probably think is great as long as it doesn't "cause a divide". Who gives a shit if you're bi-racial? I'm jewish, so what?

Seems to me like you are "causing the divide" here, my dude.

Lol. Hate speech is a thing, you know? At least in civilized places, don't know about Florida. Just because you have internalized racism doesn't mean that as a society we have to accept it and just chalk it up to "jokes or being angry"

The Canes only tried to trade TDA because he wants to play. The waivers were because of making roster space for deadline deals.

Canes have one of the deepest blue lines in the NHL. There was 1 spot open (Slavin, Burns, Pesce, Skjei and Orlov) were locks. DeAngelo started off as the 6th D, but unfortunately, he and Orlov didn't compliment each other, so Chatfield came in and that pairing has been great ever since so Tony can't get that spot back.

When Pesce went down with injury, Tony was paired with Skjei and they did just fine.

I'm glad he's still on the roster. Very good insurance having a player of his caliber who knows the system, knows the coaches, knows the team etc...

I was born and raised in Queens, the most diverse county in the US last I checked.

Clearly you have an anti-US bias, and anti-FL which is typical, so you say it's uncivilized because you disagree with free speech. Just because certain folks are delicate doesn't mean it should be a crime to say things "upsetting."

Cute you accuse me of internal racism, though as someone half black and half white, which side am I racist against? I look more like Bob Marley, I can even grow dreads, but I've never hated my black side. Hmmm, maybe I hate my white side?

I grew up with friends who threw around offensive jokes on a regular basis and I did the same. It was never defining who we were or what we thought. I've been around people who've said horribly offensive things directed at me. I don't think they should be arrested, but then it's up to me to decide how to react.

The difference is we still don't know exactly what DeAngelo said and in what context. But your hatred of him because he has opposing political values does not allow you to be objective.

You've got way off the topic into your political and racial statements because folks like you can't control yourself. This is about the hockey player and his hockey abilities, which aren't bad. You've ignored the facts of his playing to just rant and rave about politics.

Ladies and gentlemen, the definition of a strawman.

Fiscal conservatism and social conservatism are obviously different vectors and wealth and social conservatism doesn’t have a lot of correlation.
