Gardiner-DeAngelo as a pairing has the making of nightmares. You forgot one Brady Skjei.

I wonder if they’re spending $800K for another DeAngelo-sitter? Either that, or they miraculously have found a taker for Gardiner.

Was that the highlight of his career? Because I don’t remember. I do remember Skjei destroying Fast and Aho undressing Tony D. Funny how all 4 are Canes now. And not a huge fan of any of them myself. It’s like both teams love each other’s rejects

This isn’t a bad signing for the price. He can fill at fwd competently enough as well.

He also has familiarity with TDA and has played with him as a pairing before which I think should be of note.

Seems to me like they’re hedging their bet on DeAngelo rebounding with this signing. If they bring in enough familiar faces, perhaps they have a better chance of DeAngelo not going postal.

I mean, they certainly have the cap space for a character guy at $800K even though they don’t currently have the roster space.
