Caps have gotten better now with younger and faster guys playing in OT. Red Wings got close with the Larkin entry that led to a two on one, but we where lucky that DeBrincat hit the skates of Seider. Other than that Caps looked very good.

They still have to play the games! Sometimes the weaker teams who won't make the playoffs have nothing to play for but pride, but play well against better teams. One game at a time. We are 1 point back of them with 2 games in hand.

Speed can be answered with good coaching. The Red Wings speed should have given them the advantage in OT, but Carbs made great personnel decisions. Mainly taking Ovechkin off the ice for faceoffs, it seemed clear the idea was “if we have possession in the offensive zone we can sneak him on”
