Vancouver Canucks sign G Michael DiPietro to 3-year ELC:
Trading for Dahlen makes that draft sting a little lessThe Canucks now have all of their first 4 picks from the 2017 draft (F Elias Pettersson, F Kole Lind, F Jonah Gadjovich and G Michael DiPietro) signed to ELC's, as well as their 6th round pick (F Petrus Palmu).
The 2016 draft on the other hand....oof. A bunch of garbage there. The Canucks passed on (and rightfully so) offering contracts to Candella, Stukel, Abols and McKenzie. Hopefully Lockwood becomes something so we'll see at least two hopefuls from that dreadful draft.
Awesome draft..and yet there's pages of of the usual crew mocking the scouts in the management thread..go figure. What a draft in 2017!....Canucks collect a franchise center; a couple of potential second or third line wingers; a legit everyday NHL prospect goalie; and a wildcard player like Palmu....and all now signed. And I suspect if Brassard continues to build on his game in the OHL, he'll earn a contract as well.
Hard to remember a draft like it in Canuck history.

This deadline should be interestingThis is exactly what the Canucks need to do. Trade veterans declining like Burrows / Hansen for Dhalen / Goldobin.
Hopefully we do the same with Markstrom, Edler , Tanev, MDZ, Gagner.
No hes too young, would be ANOTHER yearexcellent
he's still 18 for another few days
when would he be ahl eligible?
At the end of his OHL season in 2018-19, if it ends early enough. Otherwise, 2019-20. Uneducated guess is that Windsor trades him to a better team.when would he be ahl eligible?
i believe he will be eligible for 19-20 seasonexcellent

the strategy was bracket told benning and weisbrod to shut the f*** upAwesome draft..and yet there's pages of of the usual crew mocking the scouts in the management thread..go figure.
Whatever strategies the scouts had for 2017,lets hope they can recapture that in the 2018 draft.
I remember when people called the 2014 draft one of the best drafts in franchise history.Shouldn't we wait a few years before declaring this an incredible draft?
They can all tell each other to shut the f*** up..as long as they keep draftng the right guys..who cares.the strategy was bracket told benning and weisbrod to shut the **** up
Whaat? Stop being so negative, come on board its easierSeems premature but okay I guess.
