Great value, I think that is a steal by the time they get later in that deal. People are throwing stupid money at dmen who are half as good as Tanev.

We clearly wanted him and he clearly wanted us. Kudos on management.

I can't really see the savings. Why would he have taken less?

It's 445k more than I'd have hoped, but he's our best dmen and makes everyone he's paired with look better.

Hope he can be more durable.

I think that when we compare Tanev's deal to Brodie and Brodin we also have to consider that he's signed back to back one year deals leading up to this. He's already been amenable to the Canuck's cap satiation for a while and is giving up more UFA years.

Fair deal, happy to have him locked up for a while.

I would have like that number to have been closer to $4M considering what other young RFA top 4 d-men have been getting lately, but it isn't bad either.
