They decided to move on. Everyone knows that Travis coddled and tried his hardest to get Jake to buy in and be a big piece and what did he do....he blew it. Lost respect from Bo and the key players of this team.

Better to spend the money on someone they can rely on.

I am not opposed to Virtanen being bought out at all. The money saved is already spent, but it's still a move you have to do.

Worst crew ever

this was one of my two positive jake memories, along with him on the cycle leading up to the miller goal that turned around game five against st louis.

but in hindsight, that might in fact have been the worst crew ever.

He was fast and had an ok shot at times. Very much what the draft consensus was....a boom or bust player that had no toolbox or hockey vision.

He could’ve carved out a long career with that skill set if he simply went hard to the net. Unfortunately all he did with his physical gifts was hang out on the perimeter. Spinning to the wall when he should drive. Going around the net instead of to the net. Doing fly byes instead of hanging out near the front of the net for rebound/garbage goals.

hoglander and garland have more power forward in their pinky’s than Jake.

Hated the pick, disliked the player and really didn't care much for the person. Happy he's finally gone, but it should have been years ago...if ever.

Should have been moved some time ago but people and management continued to have delusions of grandeur with this player. The current situation makes the buyout a complete no brainer at this point.

He was very kind to a couple kids in our life, the only Canuck at one point who stuck around to sign autographs for all the kids. Holding on to that memory of him as well.
