Was always hard to on hate Stecher, always gave it his all. He was never going to anything but a 3rd pairing guy for us. The hardest part to replace will be the fact he was right handed. If we don't end up resigning him to a team friendly deal I wish him the best of luck.

All in how you structure a players contract, JB has been bad at that in the past. Stech wasn't as bad as Hutton who had a qualifying offer at or over 4m I think

It’s like Ben Hutton all over again. Goes on to sign a 1 year, $1.5M contract. Being from the area and wanting to be here I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up signing here in the end, 1 year, $2M.

Stecher could have cost us close to 3 mill next season if we qualified him. Not qualifying him does not necessarily even mean he doesn't come back.
