There is the problem! Cannot the General Manager of the team even trade an impending UFA away after the team is out of playoff contention without running to the owner for permission? Ridiculous.

I can see running a blockbuster by ownership but there is too much meddling in Vancouver. Not excusing Benning but it is big, big problem moving forward no matter who the GM is. Gills said as much when he left.
