So there’s how many WHL teams with these same colours? Rebels, Giants, Cougars, Warriors, Winterhawks….Did I miss any? If we’re going to complain about a lack of creativity…The Giants definitely don’t deserve a mulligan. Especially when you consider the part where they were the last of those teams to enter the league. There’s also the part where they’ve pretty much been rocking a tweaked version of a Johnny Canuck inspired brand since their inception.

If Benning follows through on his threat to bury veteran contracts in the minors, the Abbotsford Canucks could have the highest payroll in the entire AHL.

It's about time. Comets posters have been complaining about the lack of $$$ spent on "vets." Need to market the baby Canucks. Send more daddys down there.

Interesting development indeed. This may be one of the major side-benefits of having an AHL team in B.C. The Canucks might be more willing to give more of a shot to Western Canadian kids from the Dub, than they would have been if the franchise was still in Utica.

You never know. Maybe they can mine a few late round draft picks or UFA's from the Dub, have them develop in Abbotsford. Certainly their record of snagging prospects from the WHL can't be any worse than it is now.
