alex burrows worked his tail off to get to the NHL, he played well at every level and finally got a shot at the nhl, since he stepped foot in the league he has been a premiere defensive forward who worked extremely hard on and off the ice, this didn't change when he scored 35 goals, heck you could argue in his prime that he was the best defensive forward in the entire league. he's now an excellent possession driver that's playing the hardest minutes on the team, being moved around the lineup and still churning out good results. he has helped the kids stay afloat possession wise, and you can tell that he's a gigantic part of our locker room, on top of by all accounts being a fantastic guy off the ice. id much rather have a guy like burrows showing the kids the ropes than a guy like dorsett.

these are 19 - 23 year old men, they don't need someone who's going to teach them right from wrong, they need someone who can make them better hockey players and show them the ropes of being effective ice hockey players at the national hockey league level

I remember people wanting Weber back and were fine with giving him a multi-year but there was really no one talking about giving him north of 2M. It was mostly that they didn't want to go to arbitration with him.

Burrows is the perfect guy to teach the kids, he is where is he due to his great work ethic, the guy was underrated and pulled his way out from the ECHL to scoring clutch goals on multiple occasions in the NHL. If we can have all of the kids playing the way he has were in a good spot.

Is this a joke? Burrows should have been captain had it not been his perception around the league.

He pulled Keith's hair years ago, and that was pretty bad, but lets not forget that Keith was fishhooking him as well. Is Keith not a good mentor? Keith also throws dirty elbows but I don't see anyone complaining about him mentoring kids.

Biting someone who sticks their finger in his mouth. Call me crazy, but if someone is sticking their finger in my mouth to taunt me, I'd probably bite down. I don't like things in my mouth without permission.

Everyone dives and Burrows toned it down a lot. Kesler dove just like Burrows and everyone wanted him to be captain. Even the Sedins used to go down pretty easy at times, should we strip them of their letters?

He was also 100% in the right in the Auger incident. He handled it very poorly though, but he learned from that mistake and that's something he can pass down to the kids. Don't **** with NHL officials even if you're right.

Tootoo claims the box official heard it. Add that to the mics and it would be a suspension if anything racist was said. Either Tootoo made it up, Tootoo misheard or an angry Tootoo read more into than was there.

Yeah, a player who's worked his way into the league from basically no where, to being a major part of a top line during their most productive years, two President trophies, and one win away from a cup, has proven to make players around him better and can play up and down a lineup, has no right to mentor anyone ... because he bit a players fingers ONCE and pulled a players hair ONCE and dove for a couple of seasons.
