Oh wow. Surprise. You're taking something and blowing it out of proportion; completely misunderstanding it.

It's not "hate". I loved Gaudette when he was picked and ever since. It's realistic expectations.

Why not just be patient and watch him begin to dominate before putting your foot in your mouth? You're making him out to be a lock for 2nd line center when he hasn't shown anything concrete he will be.
Whatever pal we will see who ends up been right here. You say you liked him since he was drafted and itd be nice if you would actually show it here instead of joining the group of anti benning fanatics attacking EVERYONE drafted by him. And also 2C is NOT his limit ffs :shakehead

I do show it.

I show it by having realistic expectations of him.

You do a disservice to him by over -hyping him and telling people he's going to be a 1C. Really, it's just being a bad fan.

Pro or anti-Benning has nothing to do with having accurate expectations of a player, whether they are developing nicely, as in Gaudette's case, or poorly, as in Juolevi's case.

And just for the record, you're saying that you think he's projecting to be a 1C ? I never said 2C was his limit. I said I currently am hoping for a really good 3C.

Scroll up and look at that list of Hobey Baker winners. You have guys like Gaudreau, then guys you've never heard of that cannot even crack the Coyote's roster. It's stupid to claim he's going to be a superstar or "tear it up" or even play in the top six until we have seen him play more in the NHL.

What a turn around for the Canuck farm system.. when a Hobey Baker winner is looking at being the #6 prospect in the system. I think what Dahlen does puts him a hair ahead of Gaudette, but it remains to be seen.

Yeah but his game translates so not worried about that. Just a matter a time now

Only a few names stand out on the list. However the last 5 are all solid players. It seems that the NCAA is becoming a more respected route to the NHL. Hoping Gaudette does well.

Just so you can see the range of players that won the Hobey Baker.

Yes, but of course the year that they win is very important in determining NHL potential. It is kind of expected a talented Sr would have the inside track on the award, but every now and again someone is able to win as a junior. Of course Eichel seems like the anamoly. Not many guys pick the college route who are future superstars.

Gaudette just because I value the centre position more than wing. I think they both have the potential for 50-60 points and maybe even more. Dahlen could generate a lot of production with Pettersson, but Gaudette's two-way play and shut down abilities will be just as valuable.

You realize 95% of the people voting have never watched a full game of Juolevi, or Dhalen, or Peterson play right? Voting based on news articles and what people here say lol.
Does that mean they shouldn't be allowed to vote or have an opinion?

Juolevi I've seen at the WJC's and in Junior, maybe 5 games total. Petterson only at the WJC's, 2 games max. Dahlen I've seen zero. What does that mean exactly? I shouldn't vote in the poll? I shouldn't have an opinion? The games I have seen of the players above make up a very small portion of my opinion of them. Should we not read news articles about them? Should we not read about them on HF?

Dispense with the drama. It means the poll doesn’t represent the actual depth chart. Would you trust a trip advisor review of someone who’s never been to that city? A car review from someone that hasent even test driven it ?

Relax with the hyperbole.
