It's between Brisebois and Virtanen for me.

Went with the defender because he hasn't given me any negative vibes yet. He's a smart, calm defender, I could I'm not a fan of Virtanen but I can still see him panning out to be a top-6 forward if he get's it together soon.

Hard not to think if Lind were taken 4 spots earlier he'd be a "first round pick" and would already have won one of these.

Not sure how the guy taken 66th is now ahead of him after 0 games played since the draft. Unless you guys are saying you'd have taken gadj at 33?

How is Virtanen ahead of Gadjovich? At least half those prospects I'd rank ahead of Virtanen.

Just by the AHL numbers Virtanen was worse last year than Carcone...

Was super impressed by Lockwood's game last season. Think he will surprise us like Gaudette this season. Freshman trusted like crazy on Michigan (fairly weak team)

But Lind/Gadjovich are good choice too. Virtanen only has his draft position, would only vote him higher if he ever learned to drive the net instead of skating around it

Voted Kole Lind. Like his progression, and upside + he's not damaged goods like Virtanen. Imo the next 3 should be Lind, Brisebois, Gadjovich. I'm not sure this team give Subban a real chance, so that's why I have him so low.

It blows my mind that so many people are voting for Virtanen this early. There are easily 4 or 5 guys on the board who should be ahead of him.

Agreed. His being forced to play a full season in the NHL before he was ready destroyed his confidence. This imo lowered his potential to a 3rd liner who might score 15 goals some years, and that's if all goes well.

It wasn't just his D+2 season, every single season after being drafted has been a disappointment. D+1 he didn't really improve that much in the WHL and his goals per game dropped by about 35%, D+2 he was rushed to the NHL and looked good at times but was mostly out of his depth, and his D+3...well...it was a complete disaster.

People need to stop looking at where he was drafted and start looking at his performance over the years.

There are some really well-versed posters on here who had Gadjovich ranked ahead of Lind. :dunno:

Other than Subban and Jake, my own knowledge of everyone else is from forum scouting (aka reading posts from smart people) and highlight packages. Based on that very informal, crude form of assessing players, I like what I've read about Gadjovich more than Lind. Even more crudely, I also find it very easy to accept that the Canucks will have the lower pick turn out better.

Agreed that Jake should not be winning this poll. If he was re-entered into this past draft, he's probably taken in the mid 3rd round.

Never said it was just his d+2...but not sending him down after the WJC was a huge mistake. Sure he got a bump in play early in January, but was awful after that. Needed extra time in junior to gain confidence, and Linden/Benning/owner wanted him up for "PR". Sad.

What's probably going to happen is Virtanen will win with Gadjovich and Lind splitting the majority of the vote. Virtanen shouldn't even be in the top 10 but because of his draft position people are voting for him. If not for that nobody would be voting for a Draft +3 prospect who had 19 points in 65 games in the AHL.

As I told you in another thread, he was basically the same age as Shink was in his D+2 when he put up 30 points in 79 AHL games. Shink was still considered a prospect then, no?

Lind.

Disgusting to see Virtanen leading this right now. He shouldn't be close.

he is both older and inferior to shinkaruk then. i would move jake for a #33 in a heartbeat and i was happy with the pick this year. i would move jake for lind if we didnt have lind

thus, jake is not as good of a prospect as lind
