He’d get along great with Jack Campbell, if he’s out here fighting goalies for not making saves-History of racism
-Strong politics, has threatened people over it
-Has attacked refs several times
-Got in a fist fight with the Rangers goalie over not making saves
-Teams have scratched him for poor work ethic and his personality
If statements against a race aren't racist, what do you consider racist?... I looked back on it all and the only things I found suggested it was anti semitic statements, not racist. ...
Well I considered it an ethnicity vs race issue. I consider race against race comments as racism. I’m not downplaying anything. If I’m wrong in thinking antisemitism is an ethnicity issue I’m all ears and eager to learn, and I had no intent to insult anyone. If statements against a race aren't racist, what do you consider racist?
Kind of just semantics don't you thinkWell I considered it an ethnicity vs race issue. I consider race against race comments as racism. I’m not downplaying anything. If I’m wrong in thinking antisemitism is an ethnicity issue I’m all ears and eager to learn, and I had no intent to insult anyone.
If you consider accuracy semantics, I guess. He's the worst but both Toronto and Edmonton should be in on this. Can probably talk Carolina down to a 6th and worse case scenario if he's a problem you just waive him and be done with it

If you want to be pedantic being Jewish is not an ethnicity or a race. Is the persecution of Christians in Muslim majority countries racism? In both cases it's religious discrimination rather than racism. If statements against a race aren't racist, what do you consider racist?
"I'm not racist, just anti-semitic". just don't think distinguishing between the two really helps, at allIf you consider accuracy semantics, I guess.
You’re looking for a fight with someone who is on your side."I'm not racist, just anti-semitic". just don't think distinguishing between the two really helps, at all
New Jersey? If only there was some place that is a mecca for misfits. A team that values offense above all else. A team that desires a right shot defenseman.
Didn't the Canes already trade De'Angelo? I'm losing track of how often this occurs.
Not looking for a fight at all I didn't read your comments as defending him, I just don't think distinguishing between anti-semitic comments and racist comments changes the context, just feels like an inconsequential point tbh. You’re looking for a fight with someone who is on your side.
I understand saying things that were horribly inappropriate in the middle of a hockey game when I was a teenager though. It didn’t matter that the culture at the time accepted it, I knew better but couldn’t control myself. I wouldn’t want to be judged by them for the rest of my life. That’s the part where I think it’s important to understand what the actual crime was, so it can be understood why it’s so wrong and learned from. TDA himself regrets saying it. He was no angel and it isn’t about defending him. If you’re going to hate on him it should be for the things he actually did vs throwing any horrible accusation you can think of against the wall and seeing what sticks. Even someone like TDA can learn from his mistakes. His politics disgust me too, but he’s allowed them.
He doesn’t seem to be the guy he was when he was younger, and he doesn’t seem to be the guy people refer to in these threads. The article I linked shows people defending him and saying they don’t see the side of him they read about surfing the webs. People can change and grow, and it’s not like he’s being let off the hook. Most people think he’s a scum bag without ever meeting him. He’s carrying that more than me or most other people that said things they regret when they were young do.
Have they, or anyone, tried him on the wing + running the PP?this is purely the Canes being willing to do right by a player who wants more playing time but is the clear #7 here. and he really is a great #7, with recent injuries he has stepped in and played great. he obviously has his flaws but the Canes would happily keep him as the #7 if he didn't want an opportunity elsewhere. there are no issues with him in the locker room, etc.
And Barrie is by all accounts extremely well liked whereas DeAngelo, well....On the ice, he’s a 3rd pairing PP specialist, unless you have an elite defensive player that can elevate him. Even if he was the world’s best teammate, he’s still a niche fit leaguewide.
His on-ice doppelgänger, Tyson Barrie, requested a trade in December. Nothing has yet materialized.
