If Habs use that 10M$ Price is asking into a top Center, then habs are closer to a team like Pens.
To not go so far off topic, I will agree that Habs need help at center and that paying Price 10M may be a terrible idea.

I am one of Habs fans who like it the most but I doubt it will happen. At this point I will be very happy with Hanzal as consolation price.
Awesome signing yet again for Laval. And here I thought winning was not important....
I just don't know why we're giving all these Laval-bound players two-year deals.
Screw the stanley cup were gunning for the calder cup baby!
LHD to play with Juulsen in Laval. Redmond and Taormina should be a solid PP duo for Laval too!
Hey, our minor league team might actually be good this year. Of course, we have next to no prospects down there for Lefebvre to grow into NHL players anyway so might as well sign some pros.
Holland, Froese, Audette is very good center depth. Now, we have Taormina, Redmond & Juulsen on D, so that's looking decent.
With Lindgren, Fucale & McNiven our goalie depth is solid.
A very good base. I wonder if one of Lefebvre's insistence on returning was for MB to give him a decent team for a change.

And Lefebvre has 2 years to prove he can get the job done. His extension is only for 2 seasons.
Habs must have wanted him bad, looks like he's getting 400K in the AHL for both years.
Smart of MB to do that because it will turn a lot of teams off if he goes through waivers.
Froese is at 250K AHL salary and Peter Holland is at 300K.

Yeah, there was a piece about the Habs overpaying for their AHL players so as to make them less attractive if they need to waive them.
About Taormina, is he a potential NHLer or just AHL material?
Froese and Holland both get 350K to play in the AHL next year, Forese will get 650K in the AHL the following year and Holland will get 700K in the AHL the following year.

I just noticed the little Note saying they're guaranteed 350K in the minors. My question is why is their minor league salary listed as 250K for Froese and 300K for Holland.

Or maybe you're forgetting that MB is no longer the GM. New GM new approach.

He's a very good AHLer, he's going to be 31 so what you see is what you get. He does have 59 NHL games under his belt so he could fill in for injuries if need be since you don't want to rush rookies like Juulsen/Bourque so even if they get hit hard with injuries they have a lot of depth in Morrow, Taormina, Redmond etc... But is a really nice pickup, 101 pts in the AHL the past 2 years, in 131 games.
What holds Taormina's game back from being NHL calibre?
He's right..
