Canada’s team?

I'm in the West, and since we took out the Leafs, a few of my friends and family have been backing the Habs. Some of it I think was just that, beating the Leafs, but now I think it has now morphed into something more. We have some secret admirers out here

I'm not Canadian, but it feels like a weird thought to me to view the Habs as "Canada's team" for the rest of the playoffs. Sure there's the country's cup drought and all that but coming from Finland, I certainly don't view Jokerit as "Finland's team" in the KHL, or whoever emerges as the top Finnish team in the Champions Hockey League as "Finland's team" in the tournament. I just don't care how they perform, unless I'm a fan of said team. We have the national team to root for as a nation.
