I guess I’m wondering why Carolina is interested in that poor of an offer, and also retaining on Staal

It's actually quite a good offer, maybe you don't have enough hockey knowledge to know who Hallander or Jarry, but they are quite promising players. Brassard is a very solid middle six center, plus there's a first and a second, seems pretty fair to me.

Why do people keep offering us defensemen we don't need when Canes fans have stated in literally every proposal that we're looking to move a d-man out for an impact forward? Also, isn't Brassard an impending UFA with a modified NTC? Even if he waives, that's an impending UFA for UFA (Ferly >> Brassard), we give up a prospect, get a d-man we don't need, and a low 1st...where do we sign up?!?!?!?!
