Hey Guys,

So I had Dengue Fever last week, was in the hospital (important note: not a nice modern one, but a local Indonesian hospital - don't get really sick in Indonesia, guys. Trust me.), and basically haven't been able to do anything over the last week except sleep, eat really disgusting hospital food and catch up on what's happening in the world of Indonesian Soap Operas.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soap Opera Summary:
1- cross dressers are sneaky,
2- the amount of clothes a woman wears has a direct correlation with her trustworthiness,
3- men exist to act as the straight man for the hilarious and irrational hi-jinx that women get into,
4- gender stereotypes from the 1950's are alive and well in the 3rd world, for reals guys.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, all that being said, can anyone give me a solid week's worth of Sens updates/ important NHL stuff? That would be awesome. I see that Anderson got hurt today... that's pretty much the only hockey-related thing I know about from the past week.

... Oh, and the mosquitoes that carry Dengue Fever can all go suck a bag of *****.

Sens are playing perfect hockey and are dominating every game.

Edmonton is now the best team in the West, trending upward and riding a winning streak. Ray Emery was beaten mercilessly by Holtby. Giroux is on fire. Cowen is the team's golden boy, the Leafs are announcing a forensics investigation to prove intent on Bolland's injury. Tavares got traded to the Sabres to line up with Vanek. A 1st and 2nd round pick went to NYI...

That's about it.

Behind you, look out
Sens have dropped the last 2 in a shoot out.

Power play is getting better. They are running MacArthur/Spezza/Ryan with Turris and Karlsson on the point. The number of chances has improved greatly.

PK is stronger than ever this year.

4 players are play at either ppg or ppg+. Spezza, Turris, Karlsson, Ryan.

Some bright spots in these bleak times.

Have they been running this as an even strength line, or just on the PP? Is Ryan still playing with Turris on the "1B" line?

For real? That's good to hear, considering how poor we have been defensively to start the year.

They tried Ryan-Spezza-Michalek at ES for a game or two, then dropped Ryan back down with Turris and MacArthur. For now, Ryan's only with Spezz on the PP.

Spezza was playing with Neil and Conacher the past few games, although Zibby was getting shifts on that line today in place of Neil.

This was literally my reaction to reading that (in bed, and everything):

Yeah Spezza has been awful, and Smith has been great so they pulled the old switcheroo and voila Spezza on line 3.

But in this game (Dallas) they seemed to have settled with Greening - Spezza - Zibanejad, which was better. Smith still with Michalek.

Anyway, it's time to panic. Cowen, Neil and Phillips are brutal.

Since last Saturday, Daniel Alfredsson has played in all 4 of the Red Wings' games. His ice time declined in each game: 20:03; 16:59; 14:56; 13:09.

The Red Wings lost the first game in OT at home against the Rangers. Then they won the first three games of a western Canada road trip, beating Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton.

Alfredsson picked up 4 points during the span, after being held pointless during the previous 3 games. He still has 13 points in 15 games though, and is fourth in Red Wings' forwards with a plus/minus of +3.

Datsyuk and Zetterberg (1st line) have mostly played apart from Alfredsson (2nd/3rd line) at even strength, with the exception of a couple of games earlier on, and for a couple of shifts in certain other games to get a boost. Still, Alfredsson ranks just behind their 15 and 14 points.

Overall, the story for Detroit has been a hot-and-cold start with an 8-4-2 record, inclusive of a 6-2 record in 1-goal games. The defence hasn't been consistent, but scoring has come through at key moments. The result is that they have an 8 point lead over the no-playoff zone, which includes Ottawa

In an ideal world, the sagging Montreal drops out of the wildcard spot, and Ottawa grabs their ticket to the Conference Finals by way of the Metropolitan Division. Detroit knocks off the Penguins and Leafs, and Alfredsson's Red Wings play the Sens in an epic showdown.

Friday's game vs Islanders, Family Guy helped to make our D pairings, Phillips ended up with the most TOI and Methot the least. Lots of fans as you can imagine were thrilled with that.
