I like Dreger's second tweet.

Three years seems like a decent term.

AAV 3~3.5M is what I'm expecting.

More than 4M? :pullhair:

Thank you Chiarelli!

This is about perfect, a reasonably priced No.1 goalie locked up for a few years.

If the average is below 3.5, it sets the team up nicely going forward. Between Nilsson and Brossoit, you likely won't have you're backup making more than 1.5 for the next few years too.

5 millions for consistent goal tending with upside. Not bad Pete.

For comparisons sake

This year's duo is costing 0.135 more than just Scrivens alone; 3 million cheaper than last year duo.

Moving forward, the any combination of Talbot and Nilsson/Brossoit will be cheaper than the 5.2 spend for the league's worst tandem last season.

This is great news from a "certainty" perspective. It will be nice to know things between the pipes are locked down, which means Pete C can focus on fixing our gosh dang mother flipping league-worst sack of poo "defense".

He's got something like 0.940 sv% in Jan. He's been pretty solid since like the latter half of December. It'll be nice to have some stability between the pipes for once.

Nicely done Chia.

His weak goals were very fixable problems. He still lets in some bad goals under his blocker arm but that should be fixable. Other then that he's been playing great since last month.

One problem with this team has been fixed by Talbot. Great idea signing him to an extension now.

4.17m is an excellent number. He's a starting goalie, anyways.

Ouch.

I thought 3mil would have been generous.

Jesus you guys are cheap.

Under 4.5m is more than reasonable for your starting goalie. But then again, what should I expect.. This club hasn't had a starting goalie since Roloson... 10 years ago.

4.17 is a little higher than I would have liked. But ultimately workable into the cap. But it makes him difficult to move should be struggle down the road.
