Matthews, Marner and Laine are top 3, followed by Nylander, Werenski, Tkachuk and Aho.

Should Murray be in the 2nd tier? Or is he 3rd tier?

(warning: no specific order, just tiers so theres no tears about my tiers' orders)

Here is a stat to remember. 48% Of Laine's goal are even strength, 88% of Matthews goals are at even strength. I wonder how that will factor into some voters minds?"

I doubt it factors at all. If there is a tie we can debate on what they choose but even then I doubt they would use ES scoring as the tie breaker.

I do know if Matthews or Marner wins we'll get to hear how the NHL team with the longest award drought (24 years) is favoured by the media.

Another goal for Auston Matthews tonight. And another primary assist for Marner!

Laine is playing scared after the concussion. Rushing passes in the neutral zone and was demoted to the 4th line. Low on confidence right now obviously, hope he picks it up.

It seems all the Laine supporters keep bringing up stats that favour him and say it should matter to the voters. However the stat I brought up in the previous thread should matter just as much. In fact it should matter a lot more because it's harder to score 5 on 5 compared to 5 on 4.

This was mentioned in past thread but Matthews has surpassed Eichel's goal total from last year in game 52

Let's say at the end of the season Marner finishes with more points, however Matthews and Laine have the same number of goals. Who deserves the Calder more based on that? As a Leafs fan I have no problem if Marner or Matthews wins it under that scenario.

Why is Laine barely playing? 9:38 TOI with 5mins left in the third, is he hurt or just a bad game?

Matthews is the favourite right now. If it's close, always centre above winger. They have a much harder role.

There are so few centres in the league who actually play centre when they are rookies and look this good.

That's true and one factor I have said on this topic that is Matthews playing centre in his rookie year is a lot harder compared to Laine and even Marner who are playing as wingers.

A bad game. His pass was intercepted and lead to a goal. Was demoted to the 4th line after that, tho now in the 3rd he has been playing as a LW with Scheifele and Wheele. Playing much better now, and I think he should be a permanent LW.

Whether that's true or not I doubt it would have any affect on the vote.

Jets should fire Maurice and hire a competent coach like Claude Julien
