I want to lean Petterson because his offensive potential is off the charts, but Barkov is so damn incredible at everything. Honestly a toss up. I like Barkov slightly better, but I'll admit it can go either way.

Close now but EP. In a couple of years he will be one of the top few players in the league. In the two or three players behind McDavid.

Cage match?! Barkov is 6'3 210 lbs while Pettersson is 6'2 and only 176 lbs. In a fight that would give a clear edge to Barkov. But on the other hand Barkov is fragile so if Pettersson could use his speed correctly he could get in a shot here and there and break down Barkov over time.

No vote is wrong here but I have a lot of faith in Pettersson. He's right there with guys like Matthews and Eichel to me. He'd probably get more respect if he went 1st or 2nd in 2017 instead of 5th.

I hate that he's a Canuck.

Agreed. The only wrong option would be some homer going "Player X and it's AINEC". I'd go with Pettersson and the only reason i'd do that over Barkov is the fact that my team is re-building and Pettersson prime will fit better with our timing. If my team was pushing for a cup in the next few years i'd probablt go with Barkov. There is no wrong or right answer in this pool.

Really though I think I'd have to go with Barkov. They both likely remain sub-PPG players going forward, Barkov brings more away from the puck.

Not like Barkov is above PPG this year, was last year and has been over the last 4 seasons combined or anything.

He has 405 points in 471 games. Let's not make Barkov into something he's not.

I don't really see how someone could vote for Petey here, unless you think Petey can get in that 100 points range, otherwise its Barkov in a landslide. Huge boi, Better production than Pete, awesome defensively.

I feel like Barkovs getting underrated here?

He has three below average defensive years in a row. It’s about time we stop calling him an elite defensive player.

He seems to be a player that can either put up a lot of points or play good defense but can’t do them both at the same time. He is still great of course but very overrated around here.
