I'd say that the main problem is that he is just average player, nothing special. Hope that he will become at least solid AHLer and KHLer, but not sure that he can even be good enough for bottom-6 in NHL

He did stand out in the Devils preseason games, had a couple goals that were beauties and did make an impact when he was on the ice but then just slithered away at Binghamton.

He's been passed by Sharangovich. I have him in a group with McLeod and Zetterlund.

Only four KHL games with SKA and not playing in the VHL before being returned?

Was he injured?

Don't know if it's about a legal issue or they simply didn't want to but SKA don't seem to be playing their loans in the VHL. It's KHL or nothing even though he would really benefit from playing in the V which is closer to his current level anyway.

Looked good, nearly got on the scoresheet and got some shifts late in the game with the Devils protecting a 1 goal lead. Devils have a lot of players out right now so he probably won't stick in the lineup, but an encouraging start in the NHL. I could see him finding a home somewhere.

Scored his 1st NHL goal tonight albeit it was an empty net goal. He even was playing in the final minutes helping to hold a 2 goal lead. It's only his 2nd season on north American ice but he is about to turn 23 in a month so he is fully grown. Could be an NHL regular and brings much needed size to the Devils. Should be interesting to see what the finished product will be.

Almost 14:00 of ice time, it will be tough for him to stick when guys like Zajac and Hischier come back, but he's got to be making an impression.

Very happy with his play. Devils need a lot of their prospects to hit or it will be rebuild after rebuild. Holtz is not looking great but Mercer is on fire . Nice to see Maltsev doing well

Considering how well he played for the Devils last year it's kinda crazy Colorado decided to send him down in the first place. Seeing who's playing on their 4th line currently, it feels even crazier.

Honestly, his game is growing leaps and bounds, especially with the puck. If you think he can become a top 6 tweener forward in the NHL, no reason not to let him play top line minutes in the AHL. He’s still a young player.
