Very good news. He should move up to the WJC-18 this year. Depending on how he plays in that and how he starts next season, he should be a candidate for the WJC-20 next season. Svechnikov should be as well.

Despite what many want , its almost certain he will be drafted in the CHL import draft. Has he given any indication he wants to come over to NA?

Well, Russia isn't Canada, it's almost impossible to find anything about kids as young, but statistics.

I'd love to know if this has much to do with not making the U18 team. Golubovich left off many good ones.

he's not very fast and strong to be a good fit in those leagues. and it means they'll bury him among kids (like abramov) till he's 20?
that's one bad decision.

Would it kill the KHL to accommodate him or are they too busy counting the money?

You got to earn that KHL spot, unless you get your agent to send you to Khabarovsk then maybe you get a shot at some 4th line minutes. Otherwise let your play talk in the meantime.

Im a broken record here, but has this guy not heard of the VHL? How is some 17 y/o who not even dominating the MHL what does he think. Look at Lipanov, Kravtsov, work their way from the the MHL to VHL and they'll be better for it. What so bad about the VHL, must be comparable to Finnish league?

VHL is not comparable FEL level, think of last year, did the VHL have NHL prospects the level of Laine, Pulju , Aho? Allsvenskan has at least produced NHL players, don't know of any player who has went to the NHL from the VHL. It's a good league, and a good stepping stone for young prospects but not up there with Europe's top leagues. Something about it isn't attractive to young Russian players they seem to not be willing to play in the VHL, if there was more incentive I'm sure more would stay. That being said too many of these kids are impatient , soccer players stay in academies till late teens and some get their chance in their early 20s, these barely 17 year olds don't seem to want to wait. However, the NHL draft seems to be their biggest motivator, something that does not affect European soccer for example.
