So as a pre-emptive deterrent - this is the GDT. There are places to discuss draft picks, a thread on the coach, the GM, the owner, discussing replacing the coach, goaltending, and even the roster in general. If y'all want to go off about something y'all have gone off about as a macro issue with the team (the ownership, the coach, the GM, or any of the oft-repeated commentary in GDT's of late), it WILL get pruned. Take the macro issues to their appropriate location. In the interim, this particular thread is about tonight's game. Got it?

Best 60 minute effort of the season. A few shifts where they were hemmed in, but otherwise they dictated play and didn't give up the odd-man rushes against.

Please play like this every game. Pretty please.
That last three minutes with the EN were brutal.

In terms of clean looks, they did a lot more to get in the way and either tie up sticks or straight block shots than they usually do. That looked like NHL level play for a change.
lots of clearing attempts that looked so half assed. Even if it‘s an icing that results, at least you get a break.

way to bust my parlay you sorry ass losers...i mean winners...ffs, they cant do anything right for me.
Stop gambling. Then it’s not an issue.

absolutely HATE how we let the Bruins dictate play at the end. Same as the Tampa game in Levi's last start that we blew.

When are we going to learn to pressure the point men?

Fortunately, Levi was a brick wall tonight
They were battling their asses off at least. Active sticks. Fighting for body position. Mittelstadt was awesome. Samuelsson was engaged. Power made some nice plays. That pass to Thompson comes to mind. Unfortunately, Tage turned it over at the blue line. The pressure was relentless after that TO.

Still, the Sabres played discplined and fought the good fight to get off the ice without giving up a goal.

If Montgomery was hard on them at the last practice, I wonder how bad he's going to lay into them after this one?

Also, classic Bruins: Marchand as second star. :biglaugh:

The challenge is how to make last night's effort a normal occurrence every game they play. Confidence is a contributing factor but the bar needs to be raised consistently across the schedule. Not only for rival teams or after they've been embarrassed.

Complacency is the enemy. Consistency of superior play is the objective.

Small steps are great. But many more are now required and expected.
