If they were going to use Jeffrey in a top 9 role fair enough but if they're going with TK at centre then it makes so much more sense to have Vitale in. I really don't understand why Bylsma doesn't love Vitale as much as we do, he seems like exactly the type of player he likes.

Not surprised that Neal and Iggy are switching wings. Hope Iggy gets his first point.

Yeah it really doesn't make any sense.

Bylsma said Jeffrey could also see action between Kunitz and Dupuis. Kennedy worked there today #Pens -SK

Bylsma: "I think you would expect to see (Dustin) Jeffrey," not just Kennedy, play with Kunitz and Dupuis.going forward.

Bylsma: "When Sid left the ice, I immediately thought of (Kennedy) going to the center position."

I found this quote funny, also feel like it's 100% untrue.

#Pens coach Bylsma: When you see a teammate get injured there is concern. No difference whether it's Crosby or Martin.

(not that there isn't concern regardless, but if Tanner Glass goes down, your Oh **** level is slightly lower than if Crosby goes down)

Bylsma: Letang will be on the ice again tomorrow by himself, but no timeline going forward #Pens

Crosby still in the hospital. Not sure for how long.

I thought Letang was 7-10 days away. Now it's no timetable?

Yes of course, make it easy for the other team so they can just shut down one line and throttle the offense. The team better starting go full Devils trap-era style because if they have been scoring just 2 goals on avg during this stretch WITH Crosby it's definitely not getting any easier without him.

Well there was this guy named Malkin that was injured for a lot of the streak. We also just acquired this Iginla guy, not sure if he's good or not though.

Hey, if anything, this will force the team to keep up this defensive style of play they have been playing over the past month.

Has Iginla ever played center? Would it be an option to center him with Kunitz and Dupuis? I know he takes face-offs and is pretty decent at them.

The plan here is obviously to keep as many people that Bylsma wants in the lineup in the position he wants them in long term. Why that doesn't include Vitale I don't understand.

What's more confusing is why he's so convinced that Jeffrey is somehow a top 6 forward, especially over Sutter. It really is one of the biggest enigma's of the season to say the least.

Also, I too cannot comprehend why Vitale continues to get screwed over by DB. JV has been nothing short of solid in every single game he played this season and has been the poster boy of work ethic on every single shift. If this is how you reward players for giving full effort then it's pretty discouraging.

What's even more odd is that as soon as Geno was back in the lineup Jeffrey ended up getting scratched as the odd-man out. So you go from scratching a guy to potentially inserting him as one of your top 2 centermen?

its because they don't want to shuffle the other lines. Like I said, he wants as many players in the long term position as possible. That means Sutter on the third line.

I don't think that's as odd as you think it is. Some guys are top-6-or-bust kind of guys. Maybe they feel that way about Jeffrey, just not a prototypical bottom-6 guy.

I also think it speaks to their long-term outlook/expectations for Sid. If he wasn't coming back, they would shuffle the lines.
