Proposal: BUF/WPG: Montour for Lowry

WPG gets another RHD to round out their defense.

WPG takes on some salary in the deal, which shouldn't be an issue with Little on LTIR

Montour only has one year on his contract and is UFA after. He doesn't need to be protected.

Jets have no need for a RHD at this point, Jets could use a top 4 LHD. Pass

This is pretty horrendous for Winnipeg. Maybe not value wise, but Lowry is elite defensively and a tough sandpaper player who shows up in the playoffs. That’s something lacking from our forward core and so trading him for a meh RHD doesn’t help us.

Adam Lowry is a terrible hockey player. He had one very good defensive season and has been in a role above his head ever since. I would trade him for basically anything. Montour is a bonus.

Lowry will re-sign with the Jets. He's part of the core. Besides Sabres just signed Eakin to be their 3c for next year and the following. If Montour is UFA next year, he'd be a pretty good replacement for Poolman.
