Not exactly what I had in mind, but hopefully Subban finds lightning in a bottle rather than just fishing pucks from his net. Not expecting it...

Wait, but Buffalo already traded their future considerations to New Jersey for Will Butcher.

Clear violation of the CBA!

They got ol' future considerations back from the Isles when they took on Boychuk's contract.

but the thing is, he doesnt suck either thou...
at best, he is a good NHL goalie, bad day, can't catch a beach ball
Other than his first year with Vegas, he has not exactly been good. Even this year in the AHL his numbers are far from good.

No surprise, in fact I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. The seemingly unexpected MAF acquisition kind of screwed him over; now he'll get a chance to play. The Hawks ended up with two goalies on one-way contracts in the AHL and neither was the starter.

The Fleury acquisition didn’t screw him over, his play did. He’s at best an organizational # 3.

Eh, it allows them to keep Luukkonen in place in the AHL with someone as his partner who has NHL experience (Dell). It also probably gives Tokarski a bit of a break since they're riding him hard and putting him away wet right now... and he's fracturing under the workload.

No one is expecting miracles, it simply fits their stated goals of letting the younger players develop instead of rushing them immediately into the fire. If this was the Murray or Botterill tenure, UPL would probably already have been thrown to the wolves rather than staying down in the A to work on his game.

If you ignore that absolute stinker of a game against Grand Rapids, his save % is actually just fine.

And as Sabres fans have said above: Dell isn't good. At all. All we want/need is a goalie that stops the vast majority of the shots he should. Anderson did that and more. Tokarski generally does that. Dell did..................not.
