And is that guy Simmonds? They said on Sportscenter earlier he's I believe 2nd in the NHL in PP goals the past 5 years (behind OV).

I'm not against renting Simmonds (I am dead set against signing/extending him). The price better be right.

But if they get him he's has basically zero chance of producing like he has in the past with Philly. He's just not going to get the same type of opportunity on the PP. He's likely not going on the 1st PP unit which needs a left-shot in that right-side net position where Debrusk is. He made most of his hay in the opposite spot on the left-side net position on the Philly unit, cleaning up a lot of Giroux one-timer rebounds. It's not coincidence that the addition of JVR (another net front guy) has lessened the opportunities of Simmonds in Philly on the PP.

So if they get him, don't expect any uptick in production 5 on 5 from him compared to his 5 on 5 production in Philly this season.

He has one fewer 5 on 5 goal than DeBrusk this while playing with garbage. I mean yes, historically he is a much better PP player. And again, he isn't my number 1 target. But, lets not act like there are not good reasons for the Bruins to end up with him in the end.

Donny firsts needs to have permission to talk to stone sign him for 9 aav a year for 5 years. Then offer dorion 2 first round picks this year and 2020 zboril JFK and cehlerik . If that doesn't work and dorion pounds the table on vak or stud just let it go.
They would never go for that

The second Boston says: 2019 (1) and conditional 2020 (1) they have to be in conversation

You may be right. I dont know the Cap implications for next year.

But Im thinking if the Peg comes in hard on July 1 the guy is going home richer than Davey Crockett.
After a deep playoff run might change his mind. Obviously we’re bias but I could see Stone wanting to resign with this core. How can he say no to Bergeron?

i don't totally disagree with sweeney about the 1st. for stone? all good. for panarin? yup. the rest of these clowns?
no chance. if there's a guy out there with term that is being shopped that we don't know about? i'm good with those
deals too. i'm prepared for our 2nd round pick plus solid prospect going out the door for a rental RW at this point.
it is what it is. and hopefully stone is not extended, and is a bruin on july 1 :)

Do you really see the Bruins giving Stone 10 plus million? I don’t.

I have seen a few posts advocating putting Coyle on the 2nd line. I would not do that. We have finally fixed our 3rd line center problem. That's where he should play. I do not want to go into the playoffs with any of JFK/Frederic/Backes/Kuraly (yikes) as our 3C. I think we all know that won't work.

I'd feel more comfortable with Cehlarik with Krejci & DeBrusk if the Bruins can't land a legit winger.

The speculation in why Stone turned down Dorion's offer is the bonus money, the guaranteed cash. Melnyk cannot afford that right now. If Jacobs opens his wallet and gives an 8 million 8 year contract with mostly bonus money(ala Matthews) then I think its good for both parties.

I can see Boston doing that.

The reason Sweeney is not pushing hard on Stone atm(according to reports) maybe he is not sufficiently convinced Stone will resign. Why invest so heavily in an uncertain commodity?

I would rather they sit out on Stone and go after Hall in UFA at the end of next season(of course our team is older then, not sure we should wait that long.)

Also,

Keep seeing Palmieri mentioned. I have not seen anything stating he is being shopped or even looked into. Is this HFBoards talk or does it have a legit source?

Hope, in business, is a pathway to ruins.

My response, Winnipeg will pay me same if not more and while Bergy is dreamy my family and friends await.
Although I dont have jammies like Tavares.

Toodles.

There are good reasons, lots of them actually. I'll happily take the guy for a playoff run, he's still got game to give.

Just saying production wise he is what he is now, whether it be Philly or Boston.

At this point I just want them to fill that obvious hole and take a chance. They got the guy in Coyle who has term, go get that rental piece and take another shot with a Bergeron/Chara-led team.

Would like to see something around 2nd + Zboril + Gabrielle for Nyquist.

Gabrielle?

Is he in there for shits and giggles?

Right now I don’t think it would be off base to say he has negative trade value. From PRO to Atlanta (ECHL) then “reassigned” to Wichita, which is EDM’s ECHL affiliate. In 36 ECHL games he has 9g/12a.

He’s a Western Canadian kid, could see the B’s relinquishing his rights and maybe one of those teams takes a chance and offers him a minor league contract. No idea why DET would be interested? They have Tyler Bertuzzi, which is probably what the B’s were hoping Gabrielle would be.
