nah. let's see these guys for a few weeks, first.
Yeah, IMO they won't do anything trade wise at least until Thanksgiving and maybe not even then. They have too many kids
who are on the cusp of their careers to make a judgement that can throw away a potentially great player. We've seen it with (our homegrown) Juneau, Versteeg, Wheeler etc going all the way back to Ken Dryden, and Bernie Parent, Reggie Leach, and Rick MacLeish. While I realize that the window for Bergy, Marchand, Krejci and Rask is closing in the next few years they still can't afford to "go for it all" at the expense of the next great wave of Bruin prospective stars. Sweeney knows that he just can't screw up. The days of GM's screwing up and keeping their jobs are over and DS (while not having a great track record of player trades) I believe knows his weaknesses and for the most part learns from his mistakes.

Dryden obviously hurt a lot but o what could of been if those 3 flyers remained as Bruins

I remember that I used to say the same thing about Leach that I did about Wheeler, "why can't that guy stay onsides?" He (Leach, actually both) were so fast that it was difficult for their linemates to keep up with them.

I know it would probably never happen but if the defense looks good a month from now just before Krug returns and nylander ain't signed yet and you knew you get get him at let's say 7 a year would you do it. Just friendly conversation no need for anyone to freak out lol

Yes I would, but I don’t think Toronto would. Krug is too similar to Reilly and a LS defence. Toronto would likely want Carlo plus a winger.
That said, trading with the Leafs is highly unlikely when both teams are good and on a similar trajectory.

So Krug for Nylander? Yes, I would do that, but TOR isn't going to.

Has Nylander played center in the NHL or AHL? I’d trade Krug for him even if he’s just a RW, but even better if he can play center.

I think Krug for Nylander is a great trade for both teams. It's reminiscent of the Seth Jones for Ryan Johansen trade from a few seasons ago.

Leaf fans would probably hate it, though.

Don't count out some Bruins fans hating it as well.

Why?

The power play is worse without Krug, but it would get better with Nylander. The Bruins have a surplus on defense and having a star forward outside of the top line would be great for this team. If Nylander can be a center that would be even better, as mentioned above.

Defense is set Bruins need a center for the third line or is it the fourth line now

Status quo for me guys. Backes on third line has given us room to breathe . Krug comes in more firepower. All we need is a winger for David. Hurry up rick.
Agree here too. What about Stone from Ottawa? Maybe he can be pried away. I believe he is in the last year of his deal

Of the UFA wingers, I like Mats Zuccarello from a value standpoint. I'm not really interested in trading a 1st for a rental again.

I also like Justin Williams. Dude is always always a star in the playoffs. He has the C in Carolina though, so I'm not sure if they would trade him.
