Agreed

Read fluto's blog recently, he's been way off the mark lately imo

"This is a good thing. After this season, Boychuk will command an annual salary north of $6 million. This is not money the Bruins are in good position to spend."

He MAY get that on the open market from an absolutely desperate team...but I don't see Boychuk doing that. I see him signing for close to Seidenberg money...something like 4.5-4.75... People need to remember Chara is only going to be elite for a little whole longer (and his cap hit is only 4 in his final year)

If the bruins don't think they can keep Boychuk in the fold they better have a big bodied work horse with a great shot who picks it up in the playoffs in mind...
Brooks Orpik got $5.5, he is AT BEST a #4 on a decent team. He would not play every night for the Bruins. Boychuk is a top 4 on this team. He gets $6 million as an UFA, it's just a question of where he gets it because he won't be seeing that kind of coin in Boston.

Crazy good deal.

Smith $1.4
Krug $1.4
Soderberg $1.08

Well done Chia, well done.

Just a little under $3.9

Players you could have for $3.9 or so

Josh Georges
Christian Ehrhoff
Jake Gardiner
Nicholas Hjalmarsson

and everyones past favourite Bruin Andrej Meszaros

Meszaros earns $4.125 million this season. Holy ****, Chiarelli is a witch.

Karlsson, Letang, and Green really aren't that much bigger than Torey or more durable/physical.

He projects to be an equal to them if we give him the ice time. If it doesn't happen it is likely because we only give him 3rd pairing minutes.

Superstar might not be the appropriate word but Krug is on the level of those 3 offensively. And we got him for peanuts.:handclap:
He's a superstar on this team cause there's no one even close to his skill set. Our team is built to bang/crash, and now you must watch out for the greased lightning! Love his game.

IMO, Krug should have been on team USA in Sochi.

I was going to say the same thing. Michael Ryder-esque. I like Fraser, but let's not expect 25+ goals this season.

Hope we also don`t see him asleep for 25+ games yearly like Ryder, and let`s be honest, Ryder popped 27 his first year, then back to back uninspiring 18 goal seasons

If there is any chance to extend him below 4 mil per long term you take it.

With the exception of Karlsson, who's borderline not one imo anyways, those guys are not superstars

Krug is not there yet offensively either

I've never seen True Grit. Either version.

You should, both are great. I prefer the newer one personally

Perhaps. I still say he takes closer to Seidenberg money rather than north of 6 million

Congrats to all parties involved to settle on a momentary cap situation.

Krug is going to be a PP specialist and will eventually get paid good money but probably not Chara, Subban or Karlsson money. He has a great eye offensively but he IMO is a liability in his own zone and not sure how much he will improve in that area.

Still glad we have him because he added a needed dynamic to the PP last season.
