Ugh. So clearly Simon Gagne is making the team, right? Ugh.

Remember when we were supposed to worry about broken down vets taking time away from the kids until it was time to worry.

Its time....

Surprised to see Ryan Spooner go to Providence, VERY surprised to see Justin Florek go to Providence.

BUT I am VERY happy to see both Matt Fraser & Simon Gagne will likely be on the opening night roster!

I love how the mediots who get their quotes from gritty veterans are all patting Claude on the back for this.

This reduce Spooner's trade value all the way down to where other teams see a guy who wasn't even in the league last year beat him out...

Maybe we can deal him to Florida for a 6th, Nathan Horton's old cup and a Nick Boynton game worn.

My guess for opening night

ML-DK-LE
BM-PB-RS
CK-CS-SG (I'd prefer MF instead)
DP-GC-BR

Hate Loui on Line 1.
Hate that 3rd line.
Hate that 4th line.

Overall I don't like that team. I'd flat out cut 3 of those 12.

Only thing I'd like to see on top of this now would be for David Pastrnak to light things up when he gets into the preseason action this weekend and open the season with:

ML17 - DK46 - DP88
BM63 - PB37 - RS18
SG12 - CS34 - LE21
DP21 - CK23 - MF25
BR64

ZC33 - DH27
DS44 - JB55
AM54 - TK47

That lineup has a little bit of everything, speed, skill, explosive offense, hockey IQ, grit, and a history of winning.

Just get slower and older. That's the way the league is going.

Also, guys that can't stay healthy are the new market inefficiency.

I thought it was going younger and faster, I think Chiarelli missed the memo. Gagne over those three prospects? Stupid.

I would predict Spooner becomes a 40-60 point guy elsewhere and we look at him like a Versteeg, trading him for nothing.
