From reading thoughts here and on the Avs board seems like some really good asset management from Sweeney.

Bussi/Keyser seem to have earned more time and are younger than Kinkaid, Avs get some good depth since Francouz has been injured a lot.
Just a touch risky (remember Louie Domingue for the Pens last year?) but solid. Good to do a solid for a vet too.

Didnt really consider that, but that's a good thought, would be really unfortunate if we had to play one of Bussi or Keyser in the playoffs.

it also would have been just as unfortunate if we had to play KinKaid in the playoffs. Bussi and Keyser have been substantially better than him in Providence

From everything I'm reading, he's really talented and promising but was blocked in an obviously very deep Colorado system last year, then finally got a callup and hurt himself in his first game and never really had a legit shot.

Certainly worth keeping in the system.
Sounds like Zboril...

SCOUTING REPORT
Due to a high level of intensity and work ethic, he excels in pressure situations. Boasts a no-nonsense approach to the game and is willing to sacrifice for the good of the team. Is a good face-off man. Does all the little things. Needs to add bulk and strength, since he is a little lacking in terms of overall size for the National Hockey League. Also, he may lack some of the high-end scoring prowess of some of his peers. Is at times a little too wound up.

Long Range Potential: Quality two-way forward with some upside.

Looks like another good trade by Sweeney.

Left handed shot center but it seems like he's just an AHLer
Profile/scout sounds like another Studnicka...

Good trade regardless. Instead of sending Kincaid to the ECHL. Trade him

Might as well try and get something. No risk probable no Reward but can't happen if you don't try.

Sounds like he replaced Studnicka to me. Maybe without the speed.

Studnicka was a far more skilled offensive player. Studnicka has played 37 fewer AHL games, and has 10 more goals and 59 more assists than Bowers.

Honestly Bowers sounds more like an older Beecher without the elite skating ability, that said, Maybe Bowers can develop into a grinder and have a career on the 4th line.

Three pages for a nothingburger of a deal. The B’s did a solid for Kinkaid, end of story. Bowers isn’t going to be Esposito, Oates, Bergeron but more likely Zach Hamill. Avs had no use for him and had him on waivers earlier this year, just a minor league contract for a minor league contract.

Bowers may very well never make it , but I can not see the harm in taking a chance on him. As for the three pages it is great to learn a bit more about the player the Bruins picked up.

They give him the rest of the Providence season and postseason as an audition and see if he earns a contract for next season.

Did some work with Outside Edge Hockey Development a number of years ago in Halifax, Shane was one of the players attending, worked his tail off, great attitude and jumped in to help others who were first timers to the camp. Hasn`t reached the potential of being a former 1st rounder but we shall see
Thanks for this. It is always great to learn anything more about any player in the Bruin organization

Lord help us if Linus and Sway both go down. Though I guess that would be disaster whoever the third man is . . .

Yes, and this was true with Kinkaid as the depth piece. And honestly obviously Bussi is not Swayman/Ulmark, but you never know what you get in that situation.

How often has some no one come up and stunned the bruins for a night over the years
