I may be a little over optimistic but I went with - Pretty good - back to 40 points

I am hopping his injury's were like a ACL. They say you can play the next season without pain. But it still takes close to two full seasons to get back to full strength.

I'm hoping that he is healthy, and that with more pressure taken off him by a much more solid top 6 will help. If he can get the bottom 6 moving a bit it could pay huge dividends.

I think he's in the 30-40 point range, so I voted the upper. He put up 20 in 66 games last year, which projects to 25 over 82 games.

With a healthy off-season focusing on puck skills and Roy/Burakovsky as his center, I think it's a reasonable projection, health permitting.

depends on where he plays. if hes 4th line as he probably will (unless they want him at 3c) then 25 points max

127 forwards in the entire league scored 40 or more points last season. There is absolutely no way I see Laich being given the opportunities it would take for him to join that group this season.

50? Are you friggin' kidding me...?

I'll take 25 thanks...

yeah 25-30 tops in this role, fully healthy. 35-40 would be an epic comeback story

157 forwards in the entire league scored 35 or more points last season. That's over 5 per team, if distributed evenly. I'd imagine the Caps would have more than the 5 they had last year, given the additions made.

If he gets any PP time, 40 is certainly in the realm of possibility.

Less than 25 points.

Brooks looked pretty lost in the offensive zone for long stretches last year. I'm actually surprised to look back and see that he got 20 points.

He won't get any PP time since there are way too many skilled Fs ahead of him, and there's a good chance he'll get hurt again, given his history. Since there was no under 25 option for the poll I voted lost cause.

Man, I'd love to be wrong on this one.

It depends on how he plays, not how he talks. BL is good at saying the right things. He can say he's feeling the best ever but if he has any doubt or fear about his injuries then he won't be as effective. Sometimes playing with injury on your mind is almost as bad as playing hurt.

Brooks is going to have to really step up his cliche sound bites to compensate for the loss of Brouwer.

FWIW Brooks was playing center in the scrimmage yesterday, or was at least taking draws.

I think Laich will be able to become a useful player (not in the context of his cap hit) but I doubt his ability to become an offensive contributor.

He'll see a lot of PK minutes on a rebuilding unit and I think it will be hard for him to crack PP2.

20-25 points while playing solid PK. If he stays healthy.

Earns about 25% of his salary.

Hopefully i'm wrong.

IMO that's the best 3rd line (checking line/energy line/physical line etc.) but that leaves one of Johansson or Burakovsky in no man's land when everyone's healthy.

Those are Bura, Roy, Beagle and some youngsters (Latta, Galiev). They can always make it Cheetah-Like-Beagle.
