You’d also trade Tyler Johnson for a bottom pairing defenseman. Both are things that no professional hockey organization would ever consider.

There are many people who value AP higher than me and value MS lower than me. They would probably do this deal. Also no I would not trade Johnson for a bottom pair dman, I’d trade him for an inexpensive good 2nd pair guy though. He’s playing well right now though so I’d hold onto him at the moment.

Johnson has a NTC and living in St Louis with a last place team doesn't seem nearly appealing as Tampa and the Lightning.
Plus future cap reasons Tampa, it's really not doable.
I think the era of trading declining expensive players just because they were really solid years previously....that ship has sailed.

I’d at least consider it. But based on AP’s decline the last couple years I’d probably not do it.

To be fair, the decline really only includes this year, last year he was stellar. I think the triplets are taking a toll. But, I understand not wanting to do it regardless.
