People need to stop with the Crosby/Geno bashing. Hockey is a team sport. They are averaging 2nd most goals in the playoffs against the best goalies. Vezina winner and a guy playing like a god. They got no defense but that's what happens when you get all offensive defensmen. Not to mention your "best" one has 1 goal and two secondary assist away from being out the Top 15 these playoffs for points. Plays no defense and brings nothing offensively. Can't QB a powerplay. He's a waste of space but most people that actually know hockey have been saying this and not worrying about Kunitz. Who played the best out of everyone last night. Hilarious.

Key words to show your true Facebook colors. That's some heavy stuff. Poor form.

If there were ever a time for Sid and Geno to turn into hockey gods, now would be the time.

It's not over, but it sure feels like it is.

Kunitz did play well last night though and Crosby/ Malkin do need to perform.

I would really like to see duos that can skate with the puck... Sid and Hags, Malkin and Cullen, Kessel and Bennett or Sheary. Guys like Bones and Horny need two skaters around them that can bring plays up ice. When one is overly covered you have the other.

Kunitz looks like he's showing signs of being able to complement 87 and 71. He's throwing pucks into areas for his teammates to maintain possession and his hands are good enough for finishing occasionally now. Hornqvist is pretty much just dumping the puck out there. He may be a better short term fit on another line.

Kunitz-Crosby-Malkin
HBK
Kuhn/Rust-Cullen-PH
Kuhn/Rust-Fehr-Bennett

Roll the top two lines a ton.

The coaching staff and Crosby/Malkin all believe that they're better off as centers. It has nothing to do with chemistry and everything to do with style of play.

I'd go with:
Kunitz-Crosby-Hornqvist
Hagelin-Bonino-Kessel
Fehr-Malkin-Bennett
Kuhnhackl-Cullen-Rust

Three of those lines are known quantities that have had recent success. Malkin and Bennett have played well together in the past.

It doesn't matter who is in net tomorrow. If Letang plays like he did last night the season is over. Letang is the pen's most important player and for the pens to win he has to play great. Of the six D last night, Letang by far was the worse, not even close. Cole, LJ, Maata, Shultz and Dumo were far way better than Tanger last night.

It does matter, because Letang played like he did last night, and we still came within a hair of winning despite Fleury playing worse than Murray has all playoffs.

Yeah, I guarantee after we go up 3 - 2, Murray would've shut the door instead of juggling the puck like a ****ing clown all third period. Kind of like he has done the entire run in the playoffs and why we are here.
