- ROR and McCabe traded to StL for Berglund, Dunn, prospect, 1st.

- Girgensons and a mid-round pick to Pittsburgh for Sheary.

- Baptiste scores 14 goals in 74 games on the third line.

- Ullmark starts 31 games. Bernier gets the rest.

- Dahlin scores 43 points.

- Sabres finish 20th in the league and draft 9th overall.

The last one isn’t even possible. If they finish 20th they can only draft 1, 2, 3, 11, 12, 13 or 14

Prediction ...

No matter how well [insert any player] does, someone or a few will still find something to whine about the player. Glass half empty syndrome.

Every time Reinhart doesn’t get a point or a goal, we’ll hear, he’s slow, he sucks, he can’t carry the puck out of his own end etc..

Every time Eichel’s on the ice for a goal against it will be his fault and his fault alone and be pointed out endlessly.

Dahlin will struggle for a few months early on and some fans will doubt how elite he’ll ever be.

Ullmark will be “no better than Lehner” early on, and trade proposals will start creeping in.

Sabretooth will get a makeover and get a black Mohawk. And there will be much rejoicing.

We won’t sign every waived player in the NHL or AHL and therefore it won’t be “good enough” and a “missed opportunity”.

World peace.

Botterill is fired after not making changes to the core and finishing last in the east again.

Not sure what is going to happen in the next 10 days much less four months to a year from now.

We sure do have, IMO, some good young players but the supporting cast needs severe upgrades.

Bold prediction..the Sabres win the Stanley Cup.

That is bold. Got me thinking now

Is it?

I keep thinking Scandella’s 2 years are a decent bridge to Eichel earning/being ready for the captaincy.

I’m not predicting it... but I don’t think it’s a long shot either.

Eichel is the favorite for sure... Botts has literally done nothing but appease him... so it’s expected. But waiting 2 years til he’s hopefully a bit more mature isn’t the craziest longshot

ROR is still a Sabres player in his scenario too. I think if ROR is still here come next season, one of him or Jack gets the C.

Leaving aside my opinions on the first few signings and moves, if I could be guaranteed those last 6 lines I'd sign up for that so goddamn fast
