Definitely an elbow, but I'd like to see a longer replay before forming an opinion on whether it deserved a suspension. Namely, did he line that up from far away?

BTW, is this our first suspension thread of 2018-19? Should we have a cake ready or something?

Domi’s sucker punch wasn’t considered a suspension thread? Dang, I ate all the cake on that one.

Somehow this is Wilson's fault.
Bortuzzo is responsible for what he did. But a couple Blues players seemed to be amped up and ready to respond to Wilson. I don't think they approached the game like they would have without that history. I'd just as soon they play a different team for pre-season and leave that stuff for a regular season game where the emphasis on trying to get the win will overwhelm stupid grudges.

Even if he hadn’t come from far away, that was all arm and head.

Initial Elbowing looks a 2 min penalty, but the way Kempny falls, its worse than I imagined and it deserves a suspension.
Yea, the elbow looked weak (though definitely a penalty), but then you see Kempny's body fall lifelessly and head bobble as he hits the ground. Scary stuff.

I'm no expert;but, that sure looks like an elbow directly to the chin. It doesn't look intentional, just unfortunate. Still warrants a suspension.

Bad plays in the pre season where suspensions are concerned, I feel like should carry over into the regular season.
Shouldn't give them any pre-season games. Make them play everyone and then have it be all regular season games.

I also don't even know if I'm blaming the NHL anymore. PA does jack about this. No players ever say anything unless they were in the game.

Lots of media attention to Joe Murphy, but very little being done to prevent future guys to turn out like him.

Watch the DoPs video. It looks very intentional when you see the whole sequence

They weren’t even moving that fast compared to other bad hits, it seems. He should have been able to hit the body (tho he still would have hit head for sure, but witch his chest/shoulder) or decided not to hit.

Either he intended to nail the head with his elbow, having run around all night, as I’m inclined to believe in my admittedly biased opinion;
or at the very best it was extremely reckless, like he originally didn’t want to hit, decided too late and didn’t have an angle but tried to hit any... which

Suspensions should start when the season starts. They should have financial ramifications. What is the NHL doing suspending them during the preseason? Those players don't care.
Agree 100%. The games don't matter and they don't get paid for them. Zero consequences unless they're fighting to make the team.

I don't get this play. Why do this in the preseason? You are a veteran and you most likely made your team, yet this is the example you set for your younger players? That crap like this in a meaningless game is still acceptable in 2018?

I hope he gets CTE when he retires, yeah i said it, karma.

They couldn't score against champions, I guess, it's only thing that left for them.
