Thus far, the Jays pitching has been decent. Still room for improvement, but quality pitching can give any team a chance. Travis has looked very "meh" so far, really need him to get his bat going.

It’s gonna take time to get used to this new MLB schedule. It’s weird not seeing a full schedule of games on a Friday night.

Giancarlo Stanton 0-7 with 5 strikeouts today. Second 5 strikeout game of the season.

I watched some of this game waiting for the Jays game to start. He’s already getting booed by Yankees fans.

The Diamonbacks - Cardinals game today was awesome.

A.J. Pollock struck out on a terrible third strike call.

Torey Lovullo came out to argue the call and referred to Yadier Molina as some sort of a mother fudger.

Molina went ballistic and tried to attack Lovullo in doing so made repeated contact with the ump.

Pollock should go back to the minors. Both Lovullo and Molina should get suspensions. Total gong show.

    Ohtani looking unreal.

Third player ever to have 2 wins and 3 homers in his first 10 games.

More strikeouts than Max Scherzer at the moment.

Sanchez pitches his best game thus far and Jays squeak out a win.

Finally, a Jays game. I wonder if they still remember how to play baseball.

Of course, they already had a decent core improving but adding Martinez was major. Many slept on Devers too. Just a solid ball club overall.

You knew if the Sox' winning streak were to end it would take something special.

Looks like Manaea broke them. Lost two in a row now.

The season might get really tough for the Jays in a hurry.

This series with the Red Sox is critical.

It could be argued that any series against a divisional opponent is critical, but yes with the Red Sox 4 games ahead of the Jays a series win or sweep could close that game right up. But after that no no in their last game I expect Boston to come out swinging in this first game.

If the Jays are a game back after this series then the season is looking good. If the Red Sox sweep it will be tough for anyone in the division to catch them.

So yeah, this is a little more than random divisional opponent critical. It's also a really good test to see if the Jays will stay in the hunt for the division.
