I think the trigger man on the PP needs to definitely be highly skilled at offense but maybe that's just me.


Seems like a lot of wasted noise to chase Galiev off the roster with nobody clearly challenging him yet.

Indeed, if that's the only thing Galiev can bring to the team at this point, might as well put him on waivers. We have two right handed Ds who can handle the point if Ovi were to get injured.

How is Connolly's shot BTW? Does he have a good one timer?

Connolly has a quick release, but he doesn't have quite the power behind his shot that Galiev or (especially) Ovechkin does. Generally, he seems like a better fit to compete with Wilson to be the 3rd string bumper spot player. If this was earlier in the pre-season I would like to see how he fares in at the left circle, but at this point they should start gearing towards what they'll be doing in the regular season.
