Wow, what a signing. Hawks mopping up in UDFA.

This is a premier destination. Players are willing to forego "easier" opportunities to make a club elsewhere to try and make the big club of a first-class, consistently successful organization instead. Times have changed.

So the Hawks have 13 dmen signed for next season, and Johns will make it 14. I'm thinking someone like Rozsival might be traded and maybe Dahlbeck will be called up.

I'm thinking some of our depth gets shed in the offseason. IMO Leddy, Oduya, Roszival all potential trade bait. Leddy only because he would fetch a lot of assets and could be difficult to re-sign depending what salary looks like. don't think he will be content with bottom pairing much longer

It's clearly stated that Rockford isn't about winning it's about developing players. Any spot that is used on an AHL lifer is wasted in my mind.

No it wouldn't, but they need to get rid of Dent.

There are tons of young teams in the AHL every year that have success.. because they're not coached by an idiot. Look at the Binghamton Senator for instance..

They've played several '92s and '93s and most of their roster is comprised of guys born in 1990 or later.

The Icehogs don't suck because they're young. They suck because Ted Dent is a bad coach.

This. It's good to have a couple solid veterans around to help show these guys how to be pros and have some guidance. Again; good, solid veterans.
