Isn't Kruger's agent Bill Zito? Because that would explain it.

Zito's been busy getting top money for average players this summer.

You are correct. J.P. Barry is his agent. Wonder why I thought it was Zito.

Still, Barry is co-head of CAA's Hockey Division with Pat Brisson. They've got a decent list of star clients there.

Not unreasonable to think Kruger was pretty low on Barry's priority list.

Kruger's agent J.P. Barry wrote in an email on Wednesday both sides could afford to take their time with the contract.

"We are still working on this one," Barry wrote. "Marcus does not have salary arbitration rights so we have more time to continue to work on seeing if we can agree on something."
