Hawks gianed nothing of value here doing the Leafs a favor

Its rather pathetic how our GM got worked over by Dorian and Dubas today

Both front offices likely had good laugh after hanging up phone

We bailed out Leafs to jump 13 f***ing spots

Its f***ing joke the Hawks gave them #38 in deal and not the Wild pick
They moved up in the draft.

Hawks literally pick 1 spot after at #39. They got a 1st round pick back and got their man. We'll see if it was the right pick but let's not act like they gave up their only 2nd round pick (not to mention literally having a pick at 39 anyways).

Could they not trade 39? They had 38 and 39, seems weird to trade 38 and potentially cockblock yourself.

The Wild pick should have been what Leafs got and if they didn't accept walk away and leave them to find someone else to bail them out

Again, Davidson had leveraged and squandered it bailing out Leafs with little reward

Hawks needed a veteran G and they have cap to blow. You said it best, 13 spots - which isn't shit from #25 to #38 in a weak draft.

You're the type of guy who could find an unopened bottle of water in the middle of the f***ing Sahara Desert, and still bitch because it's not cold.

Hawks had all the leverage here and did jack shit with it

That is reality

They bailed out Leafs and got minimal value and a shitty goalie signed for 2 years

You do realize they need to ice a team next year, right?

They moved up... but they totally should've bailed over 1 spot.

Get a f***ing clue dude.

I do hope that doesn't f*** us out of a good player.

Dubas tends to draft well.

There could be some kind of understanding here. Something like they both know the other's picks at 38 and 39, and agreed not to f*** with each other's picks. Like a mutual understanding of who they were selecting in the respective spots.

If they had that understanding you just would give them 39.

It's not my money, and I'm happy to have moved up for another 1st rounder. Imagine being unhappy with that.

It's not.. helping the Leafs, it still hurts them. They need talent from their high picks supporting their core yesterday, they suck because they don't have that depth. This still lowers their depth addition talent. That's why it's weak for them

Wild 2nd should have been take it or leave it not the #38

If Leafs balked you tell them fine and go find another shitty tender

It wasn't worth it just to move up 13 spots and select high schooler

Yet this late in the draft no one else stepped up with a more enticing offer….

It clears bad contract and cap room for them to upgrade in goal. There is no downside for Leafs

Will likely end up with better prospect at #38 then the kid Hawks reached for

You do realize the Hawks are actively trying to suck right? And that taking on bad contracts/bad players for picks is a good thing, right? My mind is blown right now. This might be some of the dumbest shit I've ever seen from you on here.

How's that likely? The Leafs have great talent from their late 1st early 2nd rounds under Duvas supporting their roster?...

Would the Leafs had a likely better pick in the 25th or with 38?

Taking on bad contract should involve more than a 13-spot swap in draft

There is no justifiable reason to have given Leafs #38 in this scenario and Hawks had all the leverage

Wild pick should have been max offered and if Leafs refused the Hawks should have simply walked away

Why? They have a ton of room, and moved up from the 2nd round to the 1st. There's literally no downside here from the Hawks perspective, outside of if you don't like the actual pick. Mrazek will tank command for the lotto next season. And they moved up 13 spots.

Bitch about the pick, fine. But bitching about the actual trade as if it's a bad thing is just weird.

Seems like way too much ? Should we have given Leafs a high 2nd ? Maybe a 5th ,depressing stupidity
