I heard Joey Moss may be next on the chopping block.
Seriously though, Joey was conspicuously absent at Ryan Smyth night.

The deck chair shuffle. What did Olczyk do to warrant dismisle?
Meaningless.
A very Oilers move.
So... Do this mean it would be a promotion or demotion to Assistant GM?He is the Senior VP of Hockey Operations.
Interesting article from Willis. There have been many CBA blunders during his time here that were embarrassing to the organization. If they really were Olczyk's fault then the question has to be asked, why was he allowed to continue for seven years? What took so long to pull the plug on him? Same thing can be asked about Tambellini. I don't mind the Oilers using him as this years sacrificial lamb but it just means that it was yet another bad hire in a long list of bad hires by Kevin Lowe. For all those of you that think Kevin Lowe has no direct impact on the performance of this team, here's a good example of how it does. Time for him to fall on his own sword too. From the Oilers Nation article:

Hard to tell - but there may have been some good reasons.
The fact that he is so young is good for as. As an assistant GM he can slowly learn how to be a GM so if there is a time we can MacT we will have someone competent to either take over or hold interim while we look for the PROPER replacement. Also, Scott has previous NHL GM experience. He interned under Poile in Nashville while Shero was still there, and he's only 33.
