Never heard of any of those players mentioned above:help:. But for the Canucks, Tanev is a very good prospect even though none of you probably know him at all.

Don't know if he'd still be considered a "prospect", but MZA.

My apologies, but you are going to have to help me out with 'MZA'. Not a clue who that is.

I know he is currently playing his rookie season right now, but Sergie Bobrovsky of the Flyers was undrafted and barely has his feet wet in the NHL. May not classify under the rules of this thread, but good mention none the less.

Bobby Butler from the Sens. Tearing up the AHL, among the leaders in virtually all rookie categories and won the MVP for the AHL all-star game. Good pick up by Murray.

I like how this guy says he hasn't heard of Martin Jones on MZA, then says WE won't know know who Tanev is....

Not sure if this is serious or not???

I like the Martin Jones answer.

My team has some sweet undrafted prospects, but I'll just assume you're all ignorant and don't know them. /stupidity

Rafalski was a good one.

For Montréal, Andreas Engqvist (played 2 games for the habs this year) and Brendan Nash.

Look to be 2 of the best undrafted signings in a while.

Mats Zuccarello-Aasen.

Bobrovsky is another good one.

Hiller ? not a prospect, but he's pretty solid...

My nominee goes to Brandon Herrod of the Prince Albert Raiders. The kid started out in the WHL at the age of 16 and I'm told that the WHL is a stronger junior league. Prince Albert haven't been a top team lately so that's why Herrod went under the radar.

Jerome Samson for Carolina has played a ton of AHL games after being signed at 19 and has developed into a highly consistent scorer in the AHL. He scored 37 goals and 74 points last year and is on pace to match those totals again this year.

Probably won't turn out to be the very best, but David Desharnais for the Habs is looking pretty good for an undrafted player.
In four years he went from being a top scorer in the QJMHL, to a top scorer in the ECHL, then the AHL and is now making a contribution on the big team in Montreal. He's looking pretty good for such a small guy (5'6 is generous), especially when he has more room to operate on the PP.
Could end up being a poor-mans MSL or possibly just a Jason Williams-type of PP specialist. I think with a little luck and a lot of work he could top-out as a slick second-line center with some big boys like Pacioretty and Pouliot manning his wings.

Desharnais has been lights out in the ECHL and AHL since we signed him, has been solid for the Habs. While Engqvist and Nash have the size that DD doesn't, tough to say who will be the better undrafted signing.

Is he going to get a shot on the Canes next season? he's pretty much proven all there is to prove at the AHL level. Pens have Mark Letestu and Ben Lovejoy on the NHL roster who were both undrafted.
