Well I'm not too sure who the "best" skater on my team is, but every summer I like to paint a large blue rectangle area onto my lawn to fool airplane passengers overhead into thinking that I own a pool.
Skinner is a deceptive skater. He uses his hips and edge work to fool defenders.BUF - Jeff Skinner
I remember Lomberg on the Flames had awesome speed on the forecheck, but I don’t ever remember him carrying the puckFlorida - it's one of Duclair, Lomberg or Verhaeghe but I'd tend to agree with your guess of Duclair.
All 3 have pretty above average speed but I'd throw Forsling in the mix for fluid skating mechanics.
I think you're spot in with your assessments, but for me, Nylander is the team's best skater. Very graceful but strong on his feet too. Nice acceleration while already at speedWith Mikheyev gone, I would guess Rielly is the fastest straight line skater on the Leafs while Marner is the most agile and has the best edgework.

Byron, if he's done, Matheson probablyMTL is Caufield or even Pitlick over Drouin.
Byron, if he's done Matheson probably
Byron does look done, and was slow last year before his hip issues.
He ain't it.
I thought about Matheson, but imo Caufield is still way ahead of him.
Caufield's skating isn't his best quality, but it's still very good.
Matheson's skating is his best quality, but still not as good as Caufield's.
Best skater AND best fighter!Edgework with the occasional dive
Ehlers is pretty amazing to watch
Will be interesting to see how Luke slots in after NCAA season ends.NJD would be to close to call.
Miles Wood ugly but fast skating and inability to stop
vs
Jack Hughes graceful and elegant fast skating.
Haula did look pretty fast this preseason also.
Straightaway speed, McDavid 45 kph, Barzal 41 kphI mean, he's no Barzal or Larkin... but he's pretty fast though.
