You might like Gang of Four, Midnight Oil, XTC, Television (This antedates post-punk, but it has a similar sound to this short list I'm making right now.), The Teardrop Explodes, The Police, etc. In my opinion, there's a lot of upbeat, bouncy post-punk in these lists as well.
I've owned Marquee Moon for a long time, and I do consider it a masterpiece, although I'm not a fan of Tom Verlaine's vocals. Midnight Oil's "Blue Sky Mine" is a terrific song imo (and naturally I know "Beds Are Burning" too), so that might be something to explore... and of course I'm fairly familiar with the Police (and the band too, hihi!), but somehow they/Sting leave me a bit cold; Synchronicity is a good album, though.

This is not a critique of the opinion, but I don’t know if I’ve ever heard either of those albums to be known as their best album. Nothing wrong with it. Just interesting to note.
Faith is personaly my favorite The Cure album because while it's dark and depressing it's also early enough in their discography that the punk roots are still there to a degree. Beyond stuff like Japanese Whispers they moved away from that sound in my opinion, but Disintigration is also a great album.
Those are their two most goth albums. I've heard a lot of people rave about those two. There are at least two different The Cure's: the depressive goth version, and the happy-bouncy-poppy version. I like both versions, but the former about ten times as much.
I think that Three Imaginary Boys is kinda unique to The Cures sound, it's neither the pop-sound or the doom and gloom of the later 2 albums. Somewhere i have a deluxe edition on vinyl and very much like the live stuff from Joy Division the punk roots really shines through.

Yeah, Three Imaginary Boys might be a third version of the band. I really like that album too. It's better than the U.S. version, Boys Don't Cry, which has the title track and "Killing an Arab". That probably wouldn't go over too well these days, even though it's about the novel The Stranger.

Oh, there's actually another very good The Cure album in the goth style in addition to the aforementioned two: Faith. Totally forgot about that one, but it's also right up there with Seventeen Seconds and Pornography. One could perhaps include the soundtrack Carnage Visors, but it is instrumental and maybe another version of The Cure.

I'd say a fifth version of The Cure might be The Head on the Door, Disintegration, and Bloodflowers. Again, really first-rate rock in my opinion. Whether this qualifies as post-punk might be stretching it though.

Blood flowers is the most underrated album they made. I’d rank it in their top 3 myself.

This is just an personal observation but it feels like that a lot of bands that are known for their post-punk sound will move away from it with time. If Ian Curtis decided to get help instead of hanging himself i could totaly see a Joy Division where the sound naturaly moves towards early-ish New Order.

Hard to say for me. I feel like I'm growing into it more than out of it and I don't consider myself young. Amebix: Arise! sounds very mature or wise to me and it's / their punk and Motorhead roots are palpable. Some would call it crust punk but it has a post-punk feel to me (came out in the early 80s).

Ian Curtis and Joy Division are goth and post-punk in sound to me and I'd be cool with them just sticking with the feel of the first two albums had they been able to go longer.

You're right. A bit uneven, but quite good.
