Been in Vancouver only a few times but here some places I liked

Eating:
The Mexican Antojitos, Granville St
The Tempelton, Granville St - Great breakfast
Heritage Asian Eatery, Pender St

Things to do
Sea-to-Sky-Gondola
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Lynn Canyon Park (in particular when its not crowded)
Wild Whales Vancouver (that 6 hour whale watching trip is beautiful)
Fly Over Canada
Taking the seaplane for a quick trip to Victoria

Best pizza - Nicli Antica Pizzeria
Best Japanese - Rajio Public House
Best Sushi - Green Leaf Sushi
Best Taco - La Taqueria // HM Gringo for cheap tacos/beers/overall experience.
Best Italian - Nook
Best Indian - I'm brown and this is actually Nepalese but it's some of the best food you will ever eat for the price. Taste of Himalayas. Momos are amazing. Don't go for the service; go for the amazing food.
Best dim sum - Mama's dumpling and coffee
best korean bbq - Sura but they're all basically equally as good?
Best Breakfast - Chewie's Biscuit Co.
Best Ramen - Gyo Para
Best Thai - Naka Bistro Lao & Thai
Best brewery - Trading Post
Best bar - The Henry is a good time after 9
Best nightlife - U25 - Oak & Thorne if you're in the mainland and nothing else comes close. Downtown, I don't really care. It's always garbage and everyone wants to fight.
Best tourist spot you take your friends - Capilano is always a go to.
Favourite secret spot your willing to share - Not sure how secret anything is anymore but I like going to the scenic views in North Van. Whytecliff park is nice and so is Cleveland Dam.
Favourite thing to do in the city - I have a few older cars so I like to take the Datsun for a drive in the summer around the city.

Best pizza - Pizzeria Ludica (I don't eat pizza a lot, but this place was good, has vegan options (cashew cheese), and a huge library of boardgames to choose from).

Best burger - Johnny Rockets (for the price; I don't think you need to go somewhere fancy to get a great burger)

Best sushi - It's hard to go wrong with most spots in Vancouver, but for high-end sushi I would recommend Tojo's. Otherwise Kojima on Commercial is good (but I'm a sucker for jalapenos on sushi).

Best thai - Kin Kao or Bob Likes Thai (only the Broadway location; the Main street staff sucks)

Best taco - Tacofino, but it's white people Mexican food. You're not going to get authentic Mexican food here.

Best steak - Hyes

Best chinese - I like James on Hastings because it's relatively cheap, tasty, and they use great produce/ingredients (I've never felt crappy or gotten diarrhea from this spot, but pretty much every other cheapish Chinese food screws my digestive system up). ChongQing is also good for a bit pricier food.

Best dim sum - Empire in Richmond (I've only been to like 3 dim sum spots, though)

best fried chicken - Downlow Chicken Shack

best hot pot/shabu shabu - Boiling Point, or Little Sheep if you want all you can eat.

best ramen - Marutama Ramen, or G-Men Ramen in Richmond (their peanut butter ramen is awesome)

best all you can eat - Shabusen Yakiniku House, Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot, and Great Wall Mongolian BBQ

Best poutine - Frites

Best BBQ - the Hog Shack Cook House (Richmond), HK BBQ Master (Richmond), or Devil's Elbow

Best for sharing - Nightingale

Best Pho - like sushi, can't really go wrong with most spots, but Pho Lan (Richmond, but the best quality-to-price ratio) and Le Pho Vietnamese Cuisine are my favourites.

Best brewery - so many good ones to choose from. I'll go with Yellow Dog, but there are dozens of equally deserving ones.

The Mexican on Granville is quite authentic. Try the barrigon, my goodness. They have a pretty good gringa too.

Los Cuervos on Kingsway has pretty good tacos and tostadas however the last time I went it was not the same. Hopefully it was a one off and not a sign of things to come.

Sal y Limon has very good tortas and some good salsas to go with it.

My bad - I worded it poorly, but I meant you won't find authentic Mexican food at Tacofino. Although Vancouver in general is mostly white-washed Mexican food.

Thanks though, I'll check those spots out when this whole thing blows over. I also like the nachos at Bandidas Taqueria (it's a vegetarian Mexican spot on Commercial, but the nachos are great).

Not sure if this is serious or not. Woody's, for example, has been shuttered since before Corona virus.

best fried chicken - Downlow Chicken Shack on Commercial Dr. AINEC

best fried chicken - Down Low Chicken Shack (there is no debate here)

It was amazing when I had it, but I have never had that heavy of a meal before. I've eaten a lot of greasy and heavy food, but my god, I felt 10 pounds heavier after eating my chicken burger. I went with my girlfriend and we each got a chicken burger, fries, and an appetizer. The leftovers lasted me the entire weekend, like 3 more meals. Crazy.

The only other great fried chicken place I've had is the Frying Pan food truck on Burrard. That chicken burger was pretty solid, but the fries sucked.

For best bar, St. Augustine's would be at the top of my list. Their craft beer selection is unreal, and their food is actually surprisingly great. I had their hot wings and was really impressed by the quality.

Give me Guilt n Co for best nightlife scene.

Not packed with annoying kids, live music 7 days a week. Good staff.

(Pro tip - it's the best during the week)
