Voted Q, but this is a hard question. Trotz gets 2nd place in the poll because of recency bias. If this poll was taken before Babcock took over in Toronto, he might have won it. Seems like coaches won't get much recognition at all unless they win. Laviolette seems underrated, he's won a cup and been to the finals thrice, in 10 playoff appearances.

Recency Bias is funny with all the Trotz votes. I like Trotz but he has one 2nd round victory in 20 seasons. It's funny that he is 2nd in this poll with those stats.
Look what he did with such mediocre forward talent in Nashville. The top scorers during his time there was David Legwand and Martin Erat. 1 80+ point season. ZERO 35+ goal seasons.

Coach Q.

If this is post full-season lockout, then we can't just leave out his tenure in Colorado when he had no losing seasons, pulled off 2 playoff upsets, and barely missed with a great point total in a stacked West.

Funny thing about his time in Colorado, he had 95 points in all 3 seasons and had an identical record in 2 of them!

Not bad for a team with aging stars and mostly poor goaltending.

it's q, but the votes wouldn't be this lopsided if he was still coaching the hawks.
