Who is the Best Coach of this era? I generally consider this era as post full-season lockout, excluding guys who coached after this point, but the majority of their games and success came before it (ie. Mike Keenan).

If there's enough interest I may continue the polls to rank the top 10, please let me know who should be included in the next poll as well.

It's Trotz and not particularly close actually. He's the only coach of the past 20 years who literally built up a franchise from scratch then went to a perennial regular season underachieving playoff team and in 4 years got them a title. Then he goes to what you think will be a struggling doormat with no star players and gets them 2nd in division and 4th in Conference.

Because he was coaching for Holland/Yzerman when they put together a great team. If Quennville or Trotz were coaching the wings at that time they would be the one with the gold medals. If anything, Babcock underachieved in his time in Detroit. Hes still up there in this poll but not ahead of a few guys.

I think Quenneville is the answer. 2nd all time in wins and has 3 cups.
