Metallica is probably going to run away with this. They are my #2 favorite band ever but in terms of best album, did it have the biggest impact during 1983 or is it revisionist because they'd become the biggest band in their genre, one of the biggest bands of their generation, and of the biggest bands of all time?
Take that into consideration.
Kill 'Em All apparently didn't chart until 1986, and Piece of Mind did, but I don't know that I care about whether something charts or is even influential (though those two sometimes go hand in hand, not always), but rather whether it was good.
