The season's still young but MTL's 4th line (Danault-Mitchell-Byron) have been fantastic. They can match up against top lines and they chip in offensively (they're all great PK'ers aswell).

What are some of the other good 4th lines in the league? And which one do you think is best?

Different teams have different responsibility requirements for their 4th lines. Hard to say that one is better than the other, when some are relied on almost purely for defensive minutes, while others may be expected to chip in offensively, while others are used in a pure energy role.

Going by the lines thread it's easily Kulemin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck. LA, STL and SJS have really solid 4th lines. Duo of Pitlick-Letestu has looked really good too.

I'm more impressed with our 4a line than our 4b line. They're both not something to write home about though.

This kind of thread is why people hate the Habs.

To be perfectly honest Cizikas and Clutterbuck were 3rd line players playing on the Islanders 4th line(with a great 4th liner in Martin) but with the lose of Nielsen I think Cizikas and Clutterbuck are now officially 3rd line for us.

I would probably consider the combination of any 3 of Strome-Prince-Quine-Barzal-Beauvillier Islanders 4th line

Way too early to anoint them the best 4th line in the NHL.

Remember how Weise, DD, Flash supposedly being the best 3rd line in hockey turned out last year?

Shouldnt be too surprising, Flynn and Mitchell looked great last year with DSP aswell. Good hardworking players, hope they keep it up.

So long as they only play 4th line minutes... Burrows - Gaunce - Dorsett have been doing just fine.

Now post you're teams 4th line and say why they are underrated.

Oilers 4th line has been great this year.

4th line has been made up of mostly Pitlick - Lander - Letestu with Kassian on the line for 2 games.

Through 5 games.

Pitlick - 3 goals
Letestu - 1 goal 2 assists
Lander - 1 assist
Kassian - 1 goal 1 assist

Pitlick has been a revelation early on and all 4 have looked god.

The Danault-Mitchell-Byron made the Bergeron line look like amateurs tonight when they were matched against. It was very nice to watch.

Pitlick-Letestu for the Oilers

Josh Anderson and whoever for the Jackets. Mix of William Karlsson and Lukas Sedlak at C and Jenner and Hartnell at LW.

Cizikas' line is the third line.

Dont even know if the Wild is set. Erikkson Ek just got his visa finished so I guess they'll test him with different forwards to see if he or Haula gets those minutes. Either way, Wild is going to have a relatively non traditional 4th line.

Zucker-Eriksson Ek/Haula-Pulkkinen

Not sure about it. In theory it should be a good match skill wise with most teams.

Thats a great fourth line but it's a little to pricey. Still love Kulemin.
